Bottom Top

BOTTOM TOP
Presented by KLPac and The Actors Studio

Written by: Mark Beau de Silva
Directed by: Joe Hasham
Executive Producer: Dato' Faridah Merican

Dates: 12th - 13th DECEMBER 2008
Times: 8.30pm, 3.00pm (SAT)
Admission: RM25.00 (adults), RM15.00 (students)

About the Show:
BOTTOM TOP is a story about a 52-year-old mother, Bertha, who is about to re-marry. As she prepares the guest list with her son, Melvin, they screen through the women and ‘men’ in their lives to invite as guests for the limited 150 seats at the Oversea Restaurant. Secretly, Bertha is trying to find a seating partner, and ultimately a partner for her single gay son Melvin, and suggests men in her life such as the ‘market butcher’s son’ and the unmarried 40-year-old distant uncle who is suspected to be gay. Melvin, however, thinks he has better taste.

Follow the two as Bertha remembers her past flings and Melvin educates her on the social construct of his ‘different’ world.
Bottom Top is a comedy of mother and son, fitting in social roles, and getting it all mixed up. This comedy will see the return of Faridah Merican to our stage.

Faridah is set to appear alongside the playwright himself, Mark Beau de Silva, a two-time Boh Cameronian Arts Award nominee for Best Original Script.

To top this powerhouse mix, the play will be directed by KLPac’s artistic director himself, Joe Hasham.

Featuring:
Dato' Faridah Merican, Mark Beau de Silva

ID
Presented by The Actors Studio & The Ministry of Truth
Written by John Shebat de Silva
Directed by John Shebat de Silva

Dates: 17th - 19th OCTOBER 2008
Times: 8.30pm (Friday - Sunday), 3.00pm (Saturday & Sunday)
Admission: RM20.00 (Adults), RM15.00 (Students, Senior Citizens, Disabled)
About the Show:
'Id' tells a very simple story on the basis of a very ‘complex’ theory. It is simply a tale of human behaviour and how one’s desires is coupled with one’s sense of moral judgment and finally leads to an individual’s decision. 'Id' is a potpourri of sociological studies summarised and portrayed through the lives of six people who encounter the values of friendship, family, social choice, religion, etc. Perhaps understanding Freud isn’t as difficult as it has always seemed.

Featuring:
BEN SINGH, BILL REITBERGER, DASHA LOGAN, NICHOLAS CHONG, CHRISTYNA FONG, IMRAN OSMAN
